More than $100,000 in grants and donations have been confirmed in the second and final round of New England Solar’s Social Investment Program for 2024.
Twenty-two community organisations will receive assistance through Round 2, after applications were assessed by the New England Solar Community Reference Group.
This year’s two rounds of funding have provided a total of $150,000 to 34 projects based in Uralla Shire or directly benefitting the Uralla community.
A new round of grants and donations will be open for applications in early 2025.
2024 Round 2 grants and donation recipients:
- Armidale Athletics Club – Training for coaches
- Armidale Junior Rugby Union – Trailer for club equipment
- Bundarra & District Campdraft Association – Heaters for new undercover outdoor area
- Bundarra Sports and Recreation Club – Energy-efficient kitchen appliances
- Can Assist Uralla – Subsidise transport for clients
- Friends of McMaugh Gardens – Medication trolleys
- Friends of McMaugh Gardens – Therapy dog
- Guyra Junior Rugby League Club – Club presentation ceremony
- Headspace Armidale – Youth design competition for Elders Olympics team uniform
- Highlands End of Life Project – Community events and support group
- Kentucky Memorial Hall & Literary Institute – Hire band for old-time dances
- Kentucky Public School P&C – Outdoor experience excursion
- Kingstown Pony Club – Jumping equipment and grounds upgrades
- New England Lace Group – Artist training to produce lace for collection
- New England Lapidary & Fossicking Club – Access ramp to pavilion
- Uralla Branch of Tamworth Regional Horse Drawn Club – Portable dressage arena
