ACEN Australia’s 2030 Sustainability Strategy is our roadmap to leading the energy transition with purpose—advancing renewable energy while caring for the environment, supporting our people, and partnering with communities. It brings focus to our most important sustainability priorities and embeds accountability across everything we do.

This strategy supports the delivery of the ACEN Corporation broader PositiveCharge Strategy.

Leading the energy transition in the region

Our approach

We are playing a key role in accelerating Australia’s transition to a low-carbon future by responsibly growing our renewable energy portfolio. Our approach integrates climate action, resilience, and long-term sustainability into every stage of project development, construction, and operations—supporting a cleaner, more secure energy system for the regions where we operate.

Our focus areas

  • Contribute to ACEN Corporation Net Zero targets

We support ACEN’s global ambition to achieve net zero by aligning our operations, projects, and decision-making with carbon reduction pathways—driving emissions reductions across our portfolio. Review our ACEN Corporation Net Zero Targets.

  • Assess climate risks across all operational assets by 2028

We are strengthening the resilience of our assets by systematically identifying and assessing climate-related risks, ensuring that our infrastructure is designed and operated to adapt to a changing climate.

  • Implement water efficiency plans for all construction projects

We are minimising water use and promoting responsible resource management through project-specific water efficiency plans across all new developments.

Aspiring excellence in environmental management

Our approach

Aspiring to excellence in environmental management means going beyond compliance to actively protect and enhance the natural environments in which we operate. We are committed to minimising impacts, strengthening environmental stewardship, and identifying opportunities to deliver positive outcomes for biodiversity and natural resources.

Our focus areas

  • Enhance biodiversity by 2030

We seek to deliver improvements in biodiversity outcomes through restoration, habitat enhancement, and long-term land stewardship initiatives.

  • Reduce project waste to landfill

We are committed to advancing circular economy practices by minimising waste generation and increasing reuse, recycling, and recovery across construction and operations.

  • Plan and account for decommissioning and rehabilitation

We are designing projects with their full lifecycle in mind—ensuring that clear plans are in place for responsible decommissioning and land rehabilitation.

  • Maintain an ISO14001 accredited Environmental Management System

We will implement and uphold internationally recognised environmental standards to systematically manage impacts, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance across our operations.
