The New England Solar Community Reference Group (CRG) is invaluable in providing local knowledge and autonomy to the allocation of Social Investment Program grants in Uralla Shire and surrounds.
Nominations are now open for expressions of interest to join the CRG for 2026, to assess grant applications for next year’s two rounds of funding and determine where the grants will go to help make a stronger and more resilient Uralla Shire.
New England Solar CRG members should represent the community as broadly as possible, from various parts of the Uralla district and surrounds, and including a variety of ages, cultural and business backgrounds and interests. That includes representation of local youth and the Anaiwan community.
Four of the existing CRG members have reached the maximum term of two years on the panel, while this year’s newcomers are taking the option to continue in 2026. That means we are seeking expressions of interest to fill four positions next year.
Find out more about the valuable contribution the CRG has played in assessing grant applications since 2021, and the role of the new panel in 2026.

Applications to be part of the panel close on 12 December 2025 and its members will be confirmed in January.
We encourage anyone aged 15 years and over, living or working within the Uralla Shire Council region to apply to join the Community Reference Group, as well as Kelly’s Plains and Dangarsleigh residents who live within 5km of New England Solar project.
