Today we launch ACEN Australia’s inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This is an important moment for our team, and an meaningful step in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation. Our RAP is a Reflect RAP, developed with Reconciliation Australia, and it sets out practical actions to guide us as we continue our work to embed Indigenous participation across our business.
Our RAP builds on strong foundations. Over the past eight years, ACEN Australia has made lasting contributions shaped by collaboration with First Nations communities through our projects like New England Solar and the Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation equity partnership. This RAP helps us take the next step, strengthening our internal systems and governance to ensure reconciliation initiatives are consistent, rigorous, scalable, and embedded in how decisions are made across the business.
Key highlights:
- An Aboriginal Representatives RAP Working Group, made up of respected leaders from across the regions where we operate. This group will monitor our progress, support accountability, and ensure First Nations perspectives remain central in decision making. An Aboriginal Representatives RAP Working Group, made up of respected leaders from across the regions where we operate. - The creation of an Indigenous Advancement Fund, designed to contribute to Closing the Gap outcomes and support initiatives that deliver tangible benefits for Aboriginal communities.
- A commissioned artwork by Tasmanian artist Joanne Kennedy, acknowledging ACEN’s beginnings in Lutruwita (Tasmania), as we’ve grown into a national company.
2026 will be a year focused on delivering the RAP, and we’re ready to bring it to life.
