Our new 244-tonne transformer has been delivered to the New England Solar substation and installation is underway, in an important milestone to prepare for New England Stage 2.
It is the heaviest and largest transformer supplied to New England Solar – 11m long and 4.4m high – and required an 18-axle modular platform trailer, with several prime movers at the front and back of its 70m convoy.
EPEC Group, our project partners to construct the Stage 2 substation, joined us for a community information session to celebrate the transformer’s arrival, to share information about the transformer and its 2,165km overland journey from Port Adelaide.
