Nominations are open for expressions of interest to join our 2027 Community Reference Group (CRG), to assess grant applications for next year’s two rounds of funding and determine where grants will go to help make a stronger, connected and more resilient Uralla Shire.

The CRG is invaluable in providing local knowledge and autonomy to the allocation of the New England Solar Social Investment Program grants in Uralla Shire and surrounds.

New England Solar CRG members should represent the community as broadly as possible, from various parts of the Uralla district and surrounds, and including a variety of ages, cultural and business backgrounds and interests. That includes representation of local youth and the Anaiwan community.

Two of the existing CRG members have reached the maximum term of two years on the panel, so we are seeking expressions of interest to fill those positions next year.

Find out more about the valuable contribution the CRG has played in assessing grant applications since 2021, and the role of the new panel in 2027.

Applications to be part of the panel close on 11 December 2026 and its members will be confirmed in January.

We encourage anyone aged 15 years and over, living or working within the Uralla Shire Council region to apply to join the Community Reference Group, as well as Kelly’s Plains and Dangarsleigh residents who live within 5km of New England Solar project.
